Our perfect start to the Division One Super Cup has come to an end after a 1-0 defeat to Techiman Heroes in the final group stage match at the Nana Konamansah Park in Nsoatre.
Despite having already secured a place in the semifinals, the Ewoo Kɛkɛ lads were unable to maintain their winning momentum.
A solitary goal conceded in the 56th minute proved to be the difference between the two sides.
Coach Nana Kweku Agyemang had opted to rest some key players for the match, but the changes failed to yield the desired result.
“There’re many positives that we can take from the game. We started the young talents in the squad to test their abilities and assess them, which is something we did.”. He said.
On the day, Nana Agyemang felt “the wing play wasn’t very effective” and hoped that “things would get better” in the next game.
The defeat means Vision FC finish second in Group B on 6 points, a point behind Techiman Heroes.
The team will now turn attention to the semifinals, where we’ll face Group A winners, Young Apostles, while Techiman Heroes will take on Group A runners-up, Okwawu United, in the other semi-final tie.
