Newly promoted Ghana Premier League side, Vision FC recorded a goalless draw against a well-drilled PFAG Select side at the Adjiringanor Astroturf Park on Thursday.

The Eewo lads, under the guidance of new Head Coach Nana Agyemang, displayed flashes of technical ability and attacking intent, particularly in the first half. Despite limited clear-cut chances, both teams showcased moments of attacking promise.

However, a combination of resolute defending from the PFAG team and some wayward finishing prevented them from finding the back of the net. The PFAG team, featuring a mix of experienced and upcoming players, provided a stern test for Vision FC. Their organized approach and strong defensive shape frustrated the attacking efforts of the newly promoted club.

Coach Nana Agyemang Positive Despite Scoreless Draw:

In his post-match interview, Coach Nana Agyemang acknowledged the lack of goals but expressed satisfaction with his team’s overall performance.

“It was a good starting point for us,” he said. “While we would’ve liked to score, I am happy with our play in Phases 1 and 2. In phase 1, the objective was to play out comfortably using the inside and outer channels.

“In phase 2, the instruction was to gain control in the build-up and overload the opponent with an inverted fullback. This created a 4v3 overload and we were able to find the free man most of the time. This helped us to progress into phase 3 with ease. It’s important to remember that this is a work in progress.”

The team’s next pre-season fixture will be announced in due course as they gear up for the upcoming season.
